A 6-foot-4 floor general at the guard position, Dr. Mike Donahoe helped the Grove City College men's basketball team earn two NCAA Division III Championship Tournament invitations during his career.

As a senior in 1978-79, Donahoe helped the Wolverines advance to the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional by leading the team in both scoring and assists. He averaged 14.2 points per game that year and concluded his career as the ninth-leading scorer in program history with 1,051 points.

The Mount Lebanon, Pa., product earned All-Tournament honors as a senior at the NCAA Tournament at Albright College in Reading, Pa. Under the direction of head coach John Barr, Grove City finished the season with 18 victories, the second-most in program history.

That year, Donahoe became Grove City's initial CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in men's basketball.

As a freshman during the 1975-76 season, Donahoe helped Grove City to a 16-6 overall record and the program's first NCAA Division III Tournament invitation. A four-year starter for Grove City, he led the Wolverines in assists in each of his four seasons.

Grove City compiled a 57-35 overall record during his four years, including 28 wins against scholarship-level programs. He is one of only a handful of Wolverine athletes to have competed in multiple NCAA Tournaments.

Donahoe capped his career at the College by earning Sportsman of the Year for 1978-79. Donahoe graduated with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned his medical degree at Hahnemann University in 1983.
