A four-time All-Presidents’ Athletic Conference honoree at shortstop, Cherith Reidenbaker played a major role in the resurgence of the Grove City College softball program during the 1990s.
As a junior in 1996, Reidenbaker led the conference by hitting .500. That mark set a single-season program record. She also set Grove City records that season with a .558 on-base percentage and an .809 slugging percentage.
Reidenbaker earned First Team All-PAC that year. She also earned that honor after her senior season, when she led the team in hits and runs batted in. The 1997 team won 17 games, the second-highest win total in program history to that point.
In her sophomore season, Reidenbaker received her first All-PAC First Team selection after she led Grove City with 22 runs scored, 23 hits and a .359 batting average.
The Wolverines went 12-9 that year, recording their first winning season in seven seasons.
A graduate of Shawnee (N.J.) High School, Reidenbaker also earned Second Team All-PAC as a freshman in 1994.
Reidenbaker graduated as Grove City’s career leader with 74 runs scored, 104 hits and 36 stolen bases. Her .380 career batting average and .555 slugging percentage also ranked first in program history.
The Presidents’ Athletic Conference named Reidenbaker to its 60th Anniversary Team in 2015.
