A highly-decorated scorer for the Grove City College men’s soccer team from 2003 to 2006, Bob McNees concluded his career as Grove City’s all-time leader in both goals and points.

He became the first Grove City player to twice earn Presidents’ Athletic Conference Most Valuable Player honors and also helped lead the Wolverines to their first outright conference title.

McNees registered 63 goals and accumulated 139 points during his four seasons. He also set a program record by playing in 86 career matches under head coaches Don Lyle and Mike Dreves.

As a junior in 2005, McNees earned the conference’s MVP award after scoring 19 goals and recording seven assists. He scored both goals in Grove City’s 2-1 victory at Washington & Jefferson in the conference tournament final.

Grove City qualified for the Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship Tournament and advanced to the finals.

McNees became Grove City’s all-time leading scorer September 2, 2006 when he scored a hat trick in a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Bradford.

He finished the 2006 season with 17 goals and earned the conference’s MVP award. McNees also earned All-Great Lakes Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

McNees earned First Team All-PAC honors in each of his final three seasons. He earned Second Team All-PAC as a freshman after scoring nine goals in 2003.

Grove City inducted McNees into its Men’s Soccer Hall of Fame in October 2017. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems.
