GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference recognized two Grove City College lacrosse players with weekly awards Monday afternoon in honor of their respective performances last week. In women's lacrosse, freshman defender Gabri Hallam (Buffalo, N.Y./Clarence) captured Defensive Player of the Week honors. On the men's side, senior faceoff ace Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) earned Specialist of the Week distinction.

Hallam helped the Wolverines to two shutout wins last week. She had four caused turnovers and picked up seven ground balls last Tuesday in a 23-0 home win over Saint Vincent. Saturday at Hiram, she caused seven turnovers and had five ground balls to help Grove City earn another 23-0 victory. Hallam had seven draw controls in each game while adding a goal and two assists against Saint Vincent.

Hallam has helped Grove City to four shutouts this season. The Wolverines rank eighth in NCAA Division III in goals allowed, yielding only 5.71 per game. Hallam ranks eighth in Division III in caused turnovers per game (3.72). Her 52 caused turnovers are No. 2 in the nation.

Lehberg won all 16 of his faceoffs Saturday in a 23-5 home win over Saint Vincent at Robert E. Thorn Field. He matched his career high by picking up 13 ground balls. Last Wednesday night at Washington & Jefferson, Lehberg won 9 of 11 faceoffs and picked up four ground balls in the Wolverines' 25-2 win. Lehberg scored in each win and also had an assist against Saint Vincent.

Lehberg leads the conference in faceoff percentage, having won 66.4 percent of his opportunities. He leads Grove City with 85 ground balls.

Both of Grove City's lacrosse teams will be in action Wednesday at Bethany. The women's team (11-3, 7-0) will face the Bison at 4 p.m. The Grove City men (7-7, 6-0) will play Bethany at 7 p.m.
