GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team earned two victories Saturday at Robert E. Thorn Field, extending the Wolverines' winning streak to eight games.
The Wolverines opened the day with a 14-13 overtime win over St. Mary's (Md.) in non-conference action. Grove City then rolled to a 25-2 win late Saturday afternoon over Thiel in a Presidents' Athletic Conference clash. The win over Thiel is the 100th victory for ninth-year Grove City head coach

Sophomore midfielder
Ethan Binns (Saint Johns, Fla./The Bolles School) scored the game-winner against St. Mary's (8-7) 49 seconds into the extra period. Senior attack
Stewart McClain (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg) assisted Binns' goal, his second of the game.
Four teammates also scored multiple goals in Saturday's opener. Junior midfielder
Tyson Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) fired in a team-leading three goals for Grove City (10-7). Senior attacks

Davis Schneider (Winfield, Ill./Wheaton Academy) also scored two goals and added a team-leading three assists.

Faircloth scored twice in the first quarter as the Wolverines jumped out to a 6-0 lead after 15 minutes. The Wolverines led 11-8 after three quarters but the Seahawks forged an 11-11 tie. Bui put Grove City up 13-12 with five minutes left but Owen Wynot's man-up goal with 16 seconds left sent the game into overtime.
Grove City accumulated a 52-40 edge in total shots, along with a 23-20 edge in shots on goal. St. Mary's had 16 turnovers while Grove City committed 14 turnovers. Each team had 33 ground balls. Lehberg led Grove City with 10 ground balls. Glasgow and junior defender

Gill led Grove City by picking up five ground balls. Lyons, junior defender Ian Martii (Greensboro, N.C./Page) and freshman midfielder
Brock Collins (Butler, Pa./Butler) all collected four ground balls. Martii had three caused turnovers.
Overall, Grove City forced Thiel into 30 turnovers. Grove City finished with 11 turnovers. The Wolverines outshot Thiel, 67-14, including a 45-6 margin in shots on goal.

Saturday's games closed Grove City's regular season home schedule, although the Wolverines will have home-field advantage in the upcoming conference tournament. Grove City caps the conference schedule and regular season Wednesday by visiting Hiram at 7 p.m.
