Grove City now 7-0 in conference

BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College men's lacrosse team improved to 7-0 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference by securing a 28-1 win Wednesday night at Bethany in conference play at Don Ault Field. Grove City led 11-0 after one quarter and pushed the lead to 21-1 by intermission.

Sixteen men scored for the Wolverines, including seven players who notched multiple goals. Senior attack Mac Faircloth (Greensboro, N.C./Page) fired in four goals while freshman midfielder Mason Lyons (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) posted three goals and three assists for a game-high six points.

Freshmen Zach Moravec (West Chicago, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and Jake Parker (Edgewater, Md./St. Mary's Annapolis) also scored three times. Senior defender Sam Stevenson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), sophomore midfielder Tyler Blazek (Las Vegas, Nev./Bishop Gorman) and freshman Caden Ryan (Reading, Pa./Schuylkill Valley) each had a pair of goals.

Grove City also received goals from senior attack Stewart McClain (Lancaster, Pa./Lampeter Strasburg), senior defender Andrew Glasgow (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster), senior Tyler Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge), senior faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian), senior defender Samuel Busby (Doswell, Va./Patrick Henry), junior defender Nate Clark (Oakwood, Ohio/Oakwood), freshman midfielder Jake Olson (Chesapeake Beach, Md./St. Mary's Ryken), freshman midfielder Stephen Fellowes (Wheaton, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and freshman defender Griffin Fox (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian).

Junior midfielder Tyson Bui (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) chalked up a team-leading four assists while Lyons and McClain each had three assists. Freshman Alex Gladstone (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) assisted two goals. Blazek, Faircloth, Fellowes, Olson, Parker, Ryan, junior midfielder Logan Fox (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Christian), junior midfielder Breck Peacock (Wayne, Ill./Wheaton Academy) and freshman midfielder Tucker Saums (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) all had an assist.

Clark caused three turnovers while Busby, Logan Fox and sophomore defender Gabriel Mayer (Palm Harbor, Fla./Calvary Christian) caused two turnovers each. Alex Gladstone picked up seven ground balls while Bui collected six ground balls. 

Grove City accumulated a 61-10 edge in total shots. Bethany turned over possession 36 times while Grove City had 17 turnovers. 

Freshman goalie Dylan Crownover (Loveland, Colo./Resurrection Christian) made eight saves to secure the victory. 

Grove City will host St. Mary's (Md.) at 11 a.m. Saturday in a non-conference clash at Robert E. Thorn Field. The Wolverines will then host conference rival Thiel at 4 p.m. Saturday.
