NORTON, Mass. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team wrapped up the 2026 season Sunday by finishing fourth at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Championships, hosted by Wheaton (Mass.) College. Top-seeded Augustana (Ill.) downed the Wolverines in the tournament's Third Place Match, 21-5, in both teams' season finale.
Sophomore
Frances Baksa (Longwood, Fla./Lake Mary) fired in four goals for the Wolverines while junior
Shastyn Tihansky (Hazleton, Pa./Hazleton) added a goal. Sophomore
Emma Strahorn (Harleysville, Pa./North Penn) recorded two assists while Tihansky, senior
Kiley Sill (Virginia Beach, Va./Princess Anne) and freshman
Amelia Hervey (Naperville, Ill./Metea Valley) also tallied assists.Â
Sill and Tihansky both had three steals while senior goalie
Lea Steen (Schaumburg, Ill./Schaumburg) had two steals. Steen stopped three shots.Â
Baksa earned First Team All-Tournament honors following the conclusion of the championships. No. 2 Macalester defeated fourth-seeded Carthage in the championship round, 14-9.
Grove City's fourth-place finish is the best for the Wolverines since the 2021 team took third. Sill, Steen and
Candace Scalise (Clarence, N.Y./Clarence) comprise Grove City's 2026 senior class.
