PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College women's track and field team opened the outdoor portion of the 2025-26 schedule Friday and Saturday by competing in the Carnegie Mellon University Invitational, held at Gesling Stadium.
Grove City's two relay squads both posted top-five finishes to help lead the Wolverines at the competition. Sophomore
Megan Marchand (Cumming, Ga./Forsyth Central), sophomore
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley), senior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and sophomore
Nadine Lauffer (New Castle, Pa.) earned second place in the 1600 relay with a time of 4 minutes, 5.63 seconds.
Meanwhile, the 4x100 relay of Lauffer, White, sophomore
Hannah Roegiers (Marion, N.Y./Marion Central) and sophomore
Lucy Gyergyo (Wexford, Pa./Eden Christian) combined for a fifth-place finish with a time of 50.74 seconds. Both relays finished first among Division III squads entered in the respective races.
White also took fifth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.52 seconds, best among Division III sprinters. Sophomore
Hannah Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) recorded Grove City's top field finish as she took sixth in the pole vault. Herrmann cleared 11 feet, 4 1/4 inches.
Gyergyo took seventh in the long jump (16-8 1/2) while junior
Kendall Coddington (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) cleared 4-11 to take seventh place in the high jump. White finished seventh overall -- and first among Division III sprinters -- in the 200 (26.47) while Karwowski came home seventh in the 800. Karwowski recorded a time of 2:18.54, fastest among Division III entrants in the 800.
The Wolverines return to action Saturday, April 11 at Westminster.
