NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Grove City College women's track and field team competed at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference Championships, held Friday and Saturday at The Armory.
Grove City's distance medley relay team posted the squad's top finish at the two-day event as the quartet took fourth overall. Junior
Cayla Lawrence (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima), junior
Annie Herrmann (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail), senior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and sophomore
Julianna Lindberg (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) covered 4000 meters in 12 minutes, 14.91 seconds.Â
Karwowski and Lawrence also competed on Grove City's 1600 relay, which set a program record with a time of 4:01.29. Sophomores
Nadine Lauffer (New Castle, Pa.) and
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) contributed the other two legs as the Wolverines finished 13th in that event.Â
Karwowski also took ninth in the 800 meters (2:16.07). Sophomore
Hannah Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) posted Grove City's top finish in the field as she took 13th in the pole vault.
Hannah Herrmann cleared 11 feet, 2 1/2 inches.Â
Sophomore
Lucy Gyergyo (Wexford, Pa./Eden Christian) finished 15th in the triple jump with a best leap of 35-10. Junior
Kendall Coddington (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) cleared 5 feet, 1/2 inch in the high jump, good for 16th position.Â
Lindberg placed 20th in the 800 (2:19.31) while Lauffer garnered 22nd place in the 400 with a time of 59.09 seconds. White finished 26th in the 200 (26.03) and 29th in the 60 meters (7.98). Lawrence finished 30th in the 800 meters (2:22.40) while junior
Victoria Leak (Andover, N.H./Merrimack Valley) took 30th in the long jump with a best mark of 15 feet, 1/2 inch.
Annie Herrmann took 45th in the 800, posting a time of 2:27.43.
Grove City finished the meet with five team points, good for 37th place. The Wolverines will begin the outdoor season March 27 at Carnegie Mellon.
