YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's track and field team captured five total wins Thursday night at the 2026 Presidents' Athletic Conference Indoor Championships on the way to a second-place finish in the team standings. Grove City finished with 122 points in the meet, held at Youngstown State University's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). Geneva accumulated 127 points to win the crown.
Sophomores
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and
Nadine Lauffer (New Castle, Pa./Homeschooled) shared the conference's Track Most Valuable Performer award. White won the 60- and 200-meter dashes while Lauffer won the 400. Both sprinters helped Grove City close the meet with a win in the 1600 relay.
White won the 60 meters in a time of 7.90 seconds and then won the 200 in 25.77 seconds. Lauffer won the 400 in a school-record time of 58.94 seconds. Sophomore
Megan Marchand (Cumming, Ga./Forsyth Central) and senior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) joined Lauffer and White on the 1600 relay, which recorded a time of 4:03.24. That time ranks No. 2 in program history.
Sophomore
Lucy Gyergyo (Wexford, Pa./Eden Christian) led Grove City's field competitors by winning the triple jump. Gyergyo posted a top leap of 34 feet, 7 1/2 inches.Â
Gyergyo also took second in the 60 hurdles (9.61) while Lauffer finished second in the 200 (26.24). Karwowski captured runner-up in the 800 with a time of 2:15.24, the second-fastest 800 time in program history.
Sophomore
Rebekah Burger (San Diego, Calif./Cambridge), junior
Cayla Lawrence (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima), junior
Annie Herrmann (Kenosha, Wis./Indian Trail) and sophomore
Julianna Lindberg (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central) combined for fourth place in the distance medley relay. That foursome posted a time of 13:01.88.Â
Lawrence also finished fourth in the 800 (2:19.74) while Lindberg took fourth in the mile (5:14.30). Burger took fourth in the 5000 meters with a time of 19:07.15.Â
Gyergyo took fifth in the long jump with a top mark of 16-3. Marchand finished fifth in the 400 (61.16) while junior
Kendall Coddington (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) cleared 4-11 in the high jump, earning fifth place.Â
Lindberg added a sixth-place finish in the 800 (2:21.21). Sophomore
Abigail Nelson (Cheverly, Md.) took sixth in the 3000 meters, recording a time of 11:23.98. Nelson also placed seventh in the mile with a time of 5:24.23. Lauffer added a seventh-place finish in the 60 dash (8.40). Herrmann finished seventh in the 800 (2:22.51) while junior
Victoria Leak (Andover, N.H./Merrimack Valley) marked at 16-1 3/4 in the triple jump to take seventh place.
Sophomore
Claire Wisler (New Brighton, Pa./Plants and Pillars) also had a top jump of 16-1 3/4 in the triple jump, earning eighth place. Senior
Megan Wise (West Sunbury, Pa./Moniteau) took eighth in the shot put (36-3 1/2) and junior
Alayna Bishop (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) claimed eighth in the 3000 with a time of 11:29.09.
Lauffer and White both earned 20 individual points and each picked up 2.5 points on Grove City's 1600 relay.
Grove City has placed in the top two at the indoor conference championships in six of the last seven seasons, including titles in 2022 and 2025.Â
Several Grove City athletes have qualified for the upcoming All-Atlantic Region Championships, which will be held March 6-7 in New York City.
