CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's track and field team earned six wins Saturday at Case Western Reserve University's Spartan Icebreaker as the Wolverines resumed their indoor season.
Senior
Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) captured a pair of sprint events for Grove City as he won both the 200 and 400 meters. Mitchell recorded a winning time of 23.61 second in the 200 after posting a winning mark of 49.61 seconds in the 400 meters.
Freshman
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) won the 5000 meters in a time of 15:57.28.
Mitchell, sophomore
Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), freshman
Elijah Divito (Pittsburgh, Pa./Eden Christian) and senior
Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Revere) won the 4x200 relay in a time of 1:32.40.
Divito also won the long jump with a best mark of 21 feet, 3 1/2 inches. Senior
Tucker Owens (Gainesville, N.Y./Letchworth) cleared 13-5 1/4 to win the pole vault. Owens edged senior teammate
Michael Chambers (Bridgeville, Pa./Canon-McMillan) via tiebreaker as Chambers also cleared 13-5 1/4.
Divito added a runner-up finish in the high jump (6-2 3/4). Knowles took second in both the 200 (23.92) and 400 (51.81).
Grove City returns to action next Saturday at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
