SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's track and field team earned three event wins Thursday at Slippery Rock University's unscored John Papa Invitational, held at Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.
Grove City opened the meet by winning the 4x100 relay in a time of 42.67 seconds as sophomore
Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), freshman
Joseph Brallier (Bedford, Pa./Bedford), senior
Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Revere) and sophomore
Brandon Kendrew (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) teamed for the victory.
Senior
Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) won the 400 in a time of 48.06 seconds while freshman
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) prevailed in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:25.15.
Senior
Michael Singley (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) earned runner-up in the 3000 steeplechase (9:54.58) while Knowles earned third in the 400 (49.09). Senior
Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) took third in the 5000 (15:45.21) while classmate
Jacob Colbert (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia) finished in fourth place by recording a time of 15:53.97.
Mitchell also finished fourth in the 100 meters with a time of 10.94 seconds. Senior
Ethan Wiley (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) led Grove City in the field events by taking fourth in the javelin with a top toss of 176 feet, 9 inches.
Freshman
Elijah Divito (Pittsburgh, Pa./Eden Christian) took fifth in both the triple jump and high jump. He posted a best leap of 43-4 1/2 in the triple jump, then cleared 6-2 3/4 in the high jump. Freshman
Kaiden Williams (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) earned fifth in the 5000 (15:58.10) Mitchell added a fifth-place finish in the 200 (22.41) while Knowles took sixth in the 200 with a time of 22.61 seconds.

Malachi Sweeney (Poland, Ohio/Poland) and junior
James Yoho (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) took seventh in the 1600 relay with a time of 3:39.60. Sophomore
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) finished eighth in the triple jump with a top leap of 42-10 1/4.
Grove City returns to action Friday, April 24 when the Wolverines travel to Meadville for the Allegheny College Invitational.
