Yarberough, Goetz earn All-PAC

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College men's basketball player Chase Yarberough (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) and women's basketball player Kat Goetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) both earned All-Presidents' Athletic Conference recognition Tuesday night, through voting conducted by the respective men's and women's basketball coaches in the league.

A junior guard, Yarberough earned Second Team All-PAC recognition. Goetz, a senior forward, captured Honorable Mention All-Conference.

Yarberough led the Wolverines in several offensive categories as he averaged 17.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game. Yarberough also led Grove City with 49 assists and 31 steals. He shared the team lead with 46 three-point goals while also shooting 45.1 percent from the floor.

Yarberough's 484 points this season rank ninth on Grove City's single-season scoring list. He ranks No. 2 among Grove City guards in single-season scoring, trailing only Mark Timko's 670 points during the 1993-94 season. No conference player scored more total points than did Yarberough, who ranked second in the league in scoring average.

Yarberough scored in double figures 26 times this year, including three 28-point outings. His third 28-point effort of the season helped Grove City to an 80-75 home win February 14 over Washington & Jefferson, which vaulted the Grove City into the conference tournament. The Wolverines (14-13) reached the tournament semifinals, dropping a 68-67 decision last Thursday night at eventual conference champion Geneva.

The 5-foot-11 Goetz led the Grove City women's basketball team in both scoring and rebounding as she averaged 12.1 points and 7.8 rebounds per game this season. Goetz started 21 games after returning from a preseason injury. She posted five double-doubles this year, including a 22-point, 11-rebound outing November 18 against eventual conference finalist Geneva.

Goetz closed the season in strong fashion, averaging 15.3 points and 8.3 rebounds over the last seven games. Overall, she shot a team-best 46.6 percent from the field.

Goetz also earned Honorable Mention All-PAC following the abbreviated spring 2021 season as a freshman.

The Wolverines went 10-10 in conference play and 11-15 overall.

Additionally, junior center Russ Gump (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) earned placement on the conference's Sportsmanship Team in men's basketball. Junior forward Clara Hannon (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) merited a spot on the women's basketball Sportsmanship Team.
