NEW LONDON, Conn. -- The Grove City College women's water polo team rallied from a 5-3 deficit Saturday to earn a 12-10 victory over Penn State Behrend at the Collegiate Water Polo Association Division III Championships, hosted by Connecticut College. The Wolverines (10-8) will now face Wittenberg at 10:30 a.m. Sunday in the fifth-place match.

Elizabeth Andrews (Newberg, Ore./Veritas) paced Grove City's effort by registering four goals. Senior
Abby Spicher (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and sophomore
Tessa Leatherwood (Hurst, Texas/Colleyville Covenant) both scored three times in the victory while freshman
Elaine Miller (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) added two goals.

Heidi Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) recorded a team-high four assists while Leatherwood and freshman
Sophia Melanson (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) both tallied two assists. Miller and Spicher each recorded assists.
Leatherwood led the defense with three steals while Andrews and sophomore goalie
Alexa Dunn (Girard, Pa./Girard) both had two thefts. Dunn stopped 11 shots for Grove City.Â
Grove City bookended the regular season with matches against Wittenberg. Grove City fell to Wittenberg on the opening weekend of the season, February 23, by an 11-9 score. Last Saturday, Wittenberg pulled out an 11-8 win at Grove City.
Grove City's 10 wins this season are the most for the Wolverines since the 2014 team finished 11-11. The Wolverines have clinched their first winning season since 2013.
