GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer program will induct 2008 graduate Michael Manahan into the College's Men's Soccer Hall of Fame as part of Homecoming Weekend in October.

A State College, Pa., native, Manahan started three seasons in goal for the men's soccer team from 2005 to 2007. He earned Second Team All-Presidents' Athletic Conference honors twice during his career and posted 22 total shutouts.

In 2005, Manahan recorded 13 wins, 11 shutouts and an 0.83 goals-against average as the Wolverines won their first-ever outright PAC title. His 0.83 GAA set a single-season program record. 

That year, Manahan also set program records with 11 shutouts, 24 starts and 2,277 minutes played in goal. 

As a senior, he served as team captain and made 17 starts under head coach Mike Dreves. He also played for retired head coach Dr. Don Lyle during the 2005 championship season. Grove City advanced to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Tournament in both 2005 and 2006.

Manahan owns Grove City's program record with 339 career saves. His 21 shutouts rank second in program history.

The College honored Manahan as its Sportsman of the Year for the 2007-08 academic year. He also earned the College's Senior Man of the Year award.

The College established its Men's Soccer Hall of Fame in 2001. Manahan will be the 49th man inducted into the Hall. A recognition gathering will be held at 10:30 a.m. at Don Lyle Field, prior to the annual alumni match. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony will be held Saturday, October 3.
