Grove City College Athletics

GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Seven men scored goals Tuesday night to help the Grove City College men's soccer team secure an 8-0 win at Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Alumni Stadium. The Wolverines (5-0-3, 2-0) scored four times in each half on the way to extending their regular season unbeaten streak to 21 matches (17-0-4).

Senior forward Ryan Merrick (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) scored twice for Grove City while senior midfielder Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) added a goal and an assist.

Grove City also received goals from senior forward Carlo Denis (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic), senior midfielder Ryan Higgs (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair), sophomore forward Andrew Perry (Minnetrista, Minn./Southwest Christian), freshman midfielder Sean Mankowski (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) and freshman midfielder Owyn Campbell (Robinson Township, Pa./Robinson Township Christian).

Gray scored at 11:36 after receiving an assist from sophomore midfielder Judah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy). Merrick followed with his first goal at 15:48, pushing the lead to 2-0. Senior defender Theo Campbell (Robinson Township, Pa./Robinson Township Christian) assisted the Merrrick goal.

Higgs chalked up an unassisted goal at 43:34 and Denis then closed the first half by scoring 19 seconds later. Sophomore midfielder Cristian Garcia (Miami, Fla./Florida Christian) assisted Denis.

Merrick opened the second half by scoring 2:12 into the period. Noah Gray assisted Merrick's goal, his fifth score of 2026. Perry and Mankowski respectively scored unassisted goals at the 52:56 and 54:49 marks. 

Owyn Campbell capped the scoring at 83:01 by blasting in a penalty kick.

The Wolverines outshot Thiel, 29-4. Grove City also held a 14-1 advantage in shots on goal and a 7-2 edge in corner kicks. 

Sophomore goalkeeper Keller Krieger (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence) earned the win by making one save. He played 66:10 in goal. Senior Anthony D'Ippolito (Mars, Pa./Eden Christian) closed out the shutout by playing the final 23 minutes, 50 seconds. 

Noah Gray leads Grove City with six goals, six assists and 18 points. He scored his 30th career goal Tuesday night, becoming the seventh man in program history to reach that mark. Gray also moved into seventh place in program history with 76 points after his three-point outing. 

The Wolverines will host Wooster at 7 p.m. Thursday in non-conference play at Don Lyle Field.
