WARREN, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's track and field team made its final preparation for the upcoming Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships by competing Saturday in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Tune-Up, hosted by Westminster College at Warren G. Harding High School.
Three Grove City competitors earned victories Saturday, including a record-setting performance in the field. Sophomore
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) won the triple jump with a school-record mark of 45 feet, 4 1/2 inches.Â
On the track, freshman
Joseph Brallier (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) won the 200 meters in a time of 23.29 seconds while classmate
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) won the 3000 meters with a time of 8:57.34.Â
Sophomore
William Britton (Westfield, Ind.) set a program record by clearing 15 feet, 1 inch in the pole vault. He took second overall.
Sophomore
Joshua Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) took second in the 800 meters (2:03.52) while freshman
Owen Hill (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) finished second in the mile with a time of 4:40.99. Senior
Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) finished second in the 3000 meters, posting a time of 9:25.06.
Caleb Haley also placed third in the long jump (21-1 1/2) and high jump (5-10 3/4). Senior
Isaac Busler (Butler, Pa./Butler) finished third in the 800 (2:05.13) and junior
James Yoho (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) took third in the mile. Yoho recorded a time of 4:45.36.
Grove City will compete in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships this Thursday at Youngstown State University.
