YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- Senior
Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) won both the 400 and 500 meters to help lead the Grove City College men's track and field team at Youngstown State University's Mid-Major Invitational, held indoors Friday and Saturday at the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
Mitchell won the 400 meters in a time of 48.44 seconds and recorded a winning time of 64.26 seconds to take the 500 meters.
Sophomore
William Britton (Westfield, Ind.) broke the program record in the indoor pole vault by clearing 14 feet, 11 1/2 inches. He earned 13th overall.
The Wolverines took seventh in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:36.69 as freshman
Caleb Hina (Murphy, N.C./Carolina Mountain), sophomore
Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), senior
Isaac Busler (Butler, Pa./Butler) and freshman
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) each contributed a leg to the relay.
Mitchell added a 10th-place finish in the 200 (22.34) while Knowles captured 10th place in the 400 (50.06).
Sophomore
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) placed 12th in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet, 10 1/2 inches.
Grove City will compete next Saturday in Penn State's Sykes and Sabok Challenge.
