GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's and women's swimming and diving teams will induct four former standouts into its Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame during Saturday's Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet with visiting Washington & Jefferson.
Grove City will honor Rob Frey '75, Jenna (Richert '12) Foster, Megan (Bilko '16) Hoyson, and Anne Shirley (Dassow '20) Hoselton are this year's Hall of Fame selections.
Here are biographical sketches of each honoree:
Rob Frey
Frey earned three letters for Grove City from 1971 to 1975 and capped his career by earning All-America honors in the 100 butterfly at the 1975 NCAA Division III Championships in Meadville, Pa. Frey earned 12th in the 100 butterfly to help Grove City place 13th in the team standings at the national championships in his senior season. He also competed in the 200 butterfly and the 400 medley relay at the 1975 NCAA Championships.
Frey co-captained the 1974-75 team which tied the single-season program wins record by going 12-1. He graduated as the College's record-holder in the 100 butterfly, the 200 butterfly, the 200 individual medley, the 400 individual medley and the 400 medley relay.
Jenna (Richert) Foster
Foster earned eight NCAA Division III All-America honors at Grove City College from 2008 to 2012 while ranking among the fastest freestyle performers in program history.
She helped Grove City earned All-America distinction in both the 400 and 800 free relays in each of her final three seasons. Foster also contributed to All-America performances in the 200 free relay in both 2011 and 2012.
Individually, Foster provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships three times in the 200 freestyle and also in the 100 freestyle. She won the 2011 Presidents' Athletic Conference title in the 200 freestyle while contributing to 10 relay titles at the conference championships.
She held the PAC's open record in all three free relays and set the conference's 200 freestyle record while leading off the 800 free relay in 2009. Foster owned schools records in the 200 free and all three free relays.
Upon induction, Foster ranks fourth in program history in the 100 free, sixth in the 200 and 500 free, sixth in the 1650 and seventh in the 200 butterfly.
The Presidents' Athletic Conference named Foster to its 60th Anniversary Team in 2015.
Megan (Bilko) Hoyson
Grove City College's 2015-16 Sportswoman of the Year, Hoyson earned seven NCAA Division III All-America honors during her career as a butterfly and distance performer for the Wolverines.
She earned All-America status in four different individual events, including a ninth-place finish in the 1650 at the 2014 NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis. Hoyson also posted All-America finishes in the 500 (12th) and 400 individual medley (14th) that season.
After missing her junior season due to injury, Hoyson returned to the national championships in 2016 and earned All-America in the 400 IM (10th) and 200 butterfly (13th) in Greensboro, N.C. She also helped Grove City earn All-America in the 800 free relay as a freshman and then again in her sophomore season.
A two-time Presidents' Athletic Conference Most Valuable Performer, Hoyson won three conference titles in the 500 and 1650, along with two conference crowns in the 400 individual medley. She owns conference and Grove City records in the 500, 1000, 1650 and 400 individual medley while ranking third in program history in the 200 free and fourth in the 200 butterfly.
Anne Shirley (Dassow) Hoselton
Anne Shirley (Dassow) Hoselton became the second performer in Grove City women's swimming and diving history to win a national championship when she captured the NCAA Division III title in the 200 butterfly at the 2018 NCAA Championships in Indianapolis.
Hoselton won the national title with a school- and Presidents' Athletic Conference-record time of 2 minutes, 0.29 seconds in her second appearance at the national championships. That year, Hoselton also placed second in the 100 butterfly at the NCAA Championships with a time of 54.63 seconds.
Hoselton earned All-America in both butterfly events in each of her four seasons and concluded her career as an eight-time All-American. She took sixthe in the 200 butterfly and seventh in the 100 butterfly at the 2017 NCAA Championships in Sherman, Texas.
She earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Most Valuable Performer in each of her four seasons. Hoselton still owns Grove City program records in the 100 butterfly, the 200 butterfly and the 100 backstroke. She currently ranks second all-time at Grove City in the 200 backstroke and fourth in the 50 free.
Hoselton still holds conference and James E. Longnecker Pool records in both butterfly events.
The College honored her as its Sportswoman of the Year for the 2019-20 academic year.
The Grove City swimming and diving program established the Swimming and Diving Hall of Fame in 1985 to honor those athletes who have obtained a level of excellence in the pool that elevated them to heights achieved by only a select few. The inductees represent current and former record holders, All-Americans, National Champions, and inspirational leaders. These individuals have shown a commitment to the program and were identified by their predecessors, teammates, and successors as exemplary athletes and sportsmen/sportswomen.
