GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Three Grove City College swimmers earned two individual wins each Saturday afternoon as the Wolverine men's swimming and diving team downed visiting Washington & Jefferson in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet, 169-122, in James E. Longnecker Pool.
Junior
Bryce Pope (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Valley Classical), junior
Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian) and sophomore
Aidan McCarthy (Knoxville, Tenn./Christian Academy of Knoxville) all notched two wins. Pope won the 100 backstroke in 54.02 seconds and then took first in the 100 butterfly with a time of 52.53 seconds.
Hancock won the 50 free (21.21) and then touched first in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:00.64. McCarthy won the 100 free (48.67) and the 1000 (10:22.13).
Senior
Emmett Wilson (Laconia, N.H./Homeschooled) took the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:01.13 while junior
Andrew Buxbaum (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) won the 200 breaststroke (2:14.63). Senior
Logan Myers (Middleburg, Fla./Homeschooled) won the 200 butterfly (2:01.89) and freshman
George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian) won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:43.68.
Sophomore
Ryan Turner (Fombell, Pa./Riverside) won the 200 backstroke, recording a time of 2:05.34.
Wilson, Hancock, junior
Charlie Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) and senior
Sam Thayer (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay. That foursome posted a time of 1:38.02.
Grove City will host Westminster at 6 p.m. Thursday in a conference dual meet.
