BETHANY, W.Va. -- The Grove City College men's cross country team placed sixth out of nine teams Thursday at the season-opening West Liberty Invitational, held at Bethany College. Grove City finished the meet with a team score of 130. Division II member Charleston (W.Va.) won the meet with a sum of 44 points.
All seven members of Grove City's scoring lineup finished in the top 45. Freshman
Colsen Frank (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) made his collegiate debut by placing 15th overall. Frank recorded a time of 19 minutes, 37.9 seconds.Â
Senior
Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) followed in 17th place with a time of 19:39.4. Senior
Caleb Hawke (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) captured 33rd (20:25.7) while freshman
Kaiden Williams (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) took 36th in a time of 20:40.1.
Freshman
Tyler Davis (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) earned 37th place (20:41.5) and classmate
Nolan Gille (Arnold, Md./Broadneck) crossed in 41st place (20:57.4). Junior
James Yoho (Woodbridge, Va./Woodbridge) rounded out the lineup by finishing 45h in a time of 21:04.2.
Charleston freshman Harry Witt won the event with a time of 18:54.1. Exactly 100 runners competed in the event, which featured runners from seven Division II programs.Â
The Wolverines return to action September 20 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Preview in Meadville.
