MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Led by a 10th-place finish from sophomore
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian), the Grove City College men's golf team placed 11th at Allegheny College's Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational, held September 21-22 at Meadville Country Club.
Grove City finished the 36-hole tournament with a team score of 646. The Wolverines shot 327 in the first day of the tournament, then combined for a 319 Monday. Carnegie Mellon won the tournament with a total of 578.
Gronbeck shot a 149 (76-73) to earn 10th place overall.Â

Jonah Kozora (Mars, Pa./Mars) placed 46th with a 164 (83-81), one spot ahead of junior
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled). Young finished 47th with a 165 (83-82). Senior
Cayden Testa (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) and junior
Tyler Derstein (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite) tied for 51st as each player posted a 168. Both players shot 85 on the first day of the tournament, then followed with an 83.
Allegheny's Connor Bell earned medalist with a 36-hole total of 141 (74-67). Sixty-three men competed in the tournament.
Grove City will compete in the Franciscan Invitational in Steubenville, Ohio, at 1 p.m. Saturday.
