GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team concluded the 2025-26 regular season Monday afternoon by hosting the annual McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
Junior
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) earned medalist at the event by winning a scorecard playoff with sophomore
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) and Washington & Jefferson's Sean Clark. All three men shot 75, with Young's performances on the course's two toughest holes, No. 2 and No. 10, breaking the deadlock.
It is Young's first collegiate medalist honor.
Gronbeck officially finished third with his 75, helping the Wolverines place fifth in the team standings with a 320.
Sophomore
Seth Hartman (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and sophomore
Wade Springer (Topeka, Ind./Westview) both tied for 46th as each player carded an 85. Junior
Tyler Derstein (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite) posted an 86, good for 53rd.
Grove City's "B" team earned ninth in the 14-team field by combining for a team score of 332. Senior
Michael Astrab (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) placed 29th by shooting an 82. Seniors
Jack Jollie (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and
Cayden Testa (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) tied for 36th as both men carded 83s.
Senior
Brian McDonnell (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) shot 84, good for 43rd, and senior
Jonah Kozora (Mars, Pa./Mars) rounded out the "B" lineup by shooting an 85. Kozoroa tied for 46th.
Eight men also competed as an individuals for Grove City. Freshman
Topher Drombetta (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) tied for 36th with a round of 83 while junior
Daniel Artale (Lititz, Pa./Homeschooled) and sophomore
Will Nelson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) tied for 57th as each player recorded an 87. Junior
Hayden McCreadie (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) tied for 66th by posting an 89 while sophomore
Will Whitehead (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) finished 73rd with a 92.
Junior
Ross Morrow (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) carded a 93 to earn 78th. Sophomore
Owen Clouse (Templeton, Pa./Redbank Valley) posted a 99 while sophomore
Maxwell Caimano (Washington, Pa./Peters Township) shot 101. Clouse finished 87th and Caimano tied for 90th.
Marietta won the team title with a 305. W&J took runner-up with a team score of 307. Ninety-four men competed in the tournament.
The event is named in memory of three gentlemen who had a profound influence on Grove City College and its golf program: longtime trustee Milford "Miff" McBride, former golf coach and director of athletics R. Jack Behringer and longtime Grove City golf coach Bill Allen.
The Wolverines will close the season Friday and Saturday by competing in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Championships. The 36-hole event will be held at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
