BEDFORD, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed fifth out of seven teams Tuesday at Moravian University's Bedford Springs Invitational, held at Bedford Springs Resorts. Grove City finished with a team score of 326 in the tightly-bunched field. Saint Vincent won the team title with a 308, followed by Moravian (312), Goucher (314) and Juniata (321).
Grove City placed a pair of men in the top 10. Junior
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) earned fifth by shooting a 77 while junior
Tyler Derstein (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite) tied for 10th by posting a 79.
Sophomore
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) finished 23rd by carding an 84 while sophomore
Will Nelson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) came in 26th after recording an 86. Sophomore
Seth Hartman (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) rounded out the Wolverine quintet by finishing 32nd. Hartman posted a 90.
The tournament featured 37 golfers. Goucher's Mikolaj Pula won the tournament by shooting a 73.
Grove City will close its regular season Monday afternoon by hosting the annual McBride-Behringer-Allen "MBA" Invitational at Grove City Country Club.
