CANONSBURG, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed four men in the top seven Monday afternoon on the way to the team championship at Washington & Jefferson's annual Peter C. Rossin Memorial Invitational, held at Southpointe Golf Club. The Wolverines finished the tournament with a 311 team score, good for a two-stroke margin over runner-up W&J.
Senior
Adam Steinmetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) helped lead Grove City by taking second place overall. Steinmetz shot 75, including a 35 on back nine. Classmate
Luke Kimmich (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) captured sixth place with a 78.
Sophomore
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) and freshman
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) tied for seventh as each man shot 79.
Senior
Aidan Allen (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) rounded out the lineup by carding an 83. Allen finished 21st in the field.
Forty-one men competed in Monday's event. W&J's Brandon Sapolsky earned medalist with a 72.
Grove City returns to action Saturday at the Thiel Invitational in Hermitage.
