GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team placed fourth out of 11 teams Thursday afternoon at its annual Spring Invitational, held at Grove City Country Club.
Grove City finished the day with a team score of 369. Westminster won the event with a 332, followed by Thiel in second place with a 359.
Two Grove City golfers finished in the top 10 Thursday. Sophomore
Lauren Kardos (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) placed sixth overall with an 84 while freshman
Gabrielle Kinneer (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) took 10th place by shooting an 88.
Junior Hailey Muñoz (Sparta, N.J./Morris Catholic) carded a 95, good for 26th place. Junior
Julianna Jacobs (Conneaut Lake, Pa./Conneaut) placed 34th with a 101. Freshman
Sydney Goettel (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) and sophomore
Madylin Galbreath (Ellwood City, Pa./Ellwood City) tied for 37th as each player shot 102.
Junior
Rebekah Gaehring (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) rounded out the Grove City lineup by finishing 51st. Gaehring carded a 112.
Geneva's Madison Sharek earned medalist with a 78. Sixty-one women competed in Thursday's tournament.
Grove City returns to action Monday at Washington & Jefferson's Rossin Invitational at Southpointe.
