BOARDMAN, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's golf team concluded the 2024-25 season Friday and Saturday by competing in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Spring Championships, held at Mill Creek Golf Course. The Wolverines shot a 36-hole team total of 605 at the two-day event, which moved the team into fourth place in the team standings. When combined with Grove City's 639 at the Fall Championships, the Wolverines finished with a team score of 1,244 for 72 holes.
Allegheny won the team title with 1,185 while Washington & Jefferson edged Westminster by one shot for second place, 1,218-1,219. Grove City owned a one-stroke edge over Saint Vincent for fourth place.
Senior
Adam Steinmetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned First Team All-Conference honors after finishing fourth overall. Steinmetz shot 148 (73-75) at the Spring Championships and finished with a 72-hole score of 302.
Senior
Aidan Allen (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) placed 18th overall with a four-round score of 313. He shot a 79 Friday and then carded his best round of the tournament Saturday with a 75.
Freshman
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) took 21st with a 317. Gronbeck matched Steinmetz for Grove City's low Friday round with a 73. He then carded a 78 Saturday. Senior
Max Vaughn (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern) took 27th place with a four-day total of 324. Vaughn recorded an 86 Friday, then shot 76 Saturday.
Sophomore
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) rounded out the Wolverines' spring lineup by shooting 158 (76-82) Friday and Saturday. Only players who play all four rounds of the Championships are eligible for All-PAC honors and the final individual leaderboard.
Allegheny's Carter Hassenplug earned medalist with a 284 total. Forty-five men competed Friday and Saturday. Thirty-six golfers played all four rounds.
Steinmetz concludes his career as a four-time All-PAC selection. He also earned First Team All-Conference as a junior after meriting Second Team honors in his first two seasons. Steinmetz capped his freshman season by earning the league's Newcomer of the Year award.
