GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College senior Lydia Bennett (Bethel, Maine/Gould Academy) earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Track Athlete of the Week honors Tuesday afternoon in recognition of her performance last Wednesday at Grove City's Mini-Invitational, held at Robert E. Thorn Field. 

Bennett broke her own school record in the 800 meters on the way to victory Wednesday. She recorded a time of 2 minutes, 14.40 seconds, a time that now ranks second in the conference. Bennett also ranks seventh in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the 800 meters. 

This is Bennett's third Track Athlete of the Week honor this spring. 

Last Wednesday's meet marked Grove City's final preparation for the upcoming conference championships. The two-day conference championships will be held May 1-2 in Morgantown, W.Va.
