GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College freshman
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Newcomer of the Week honors in women's track and field Tuesday afternoon after her performance last Saturday at the Westminster Invitational.
White won the 100-meter dash at Westminster with a Grove City-record time of 12.22. That is the top 100-meter dash time so far this season in the conference. She placed second overall in the 200 with a time of 25.66 seconds. White finished as the top Division III sprinter in the 200 meters.Â
White also anchored Grove City's victorious 400-meter relay team, which recorded a winning time of 49.73 seconds.Â
White currently ranks fourth in the Mid-Atlantic Region in the 100 and eighth in the 200.
Grove City will host its annual Mini-Invitational at Robert E. Thorn Field, starting at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
