GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Three Grove City College men's lacrosse players earned Preseason All-America honors Wednesday afternoon from a pair of national organizations. The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) selected senior short stick defensive midfielder
Trey Zabroski (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) as a Third Team Preseason Division III All-America.
Meanwhile, Inside Lacrosse named Zabroski, senior attack
Matt Blythe (Mendon, N.Y./Honeoye Falls-Lima) and senior midfielder
Zachary Hougan (Springboro, Ohio/Springboro) as Honorable Mention Preseason Division III All-Americans.
Zabroski, the 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference Specialist of the Year, posted 14 goals and 14 assists as junior while also ranking second on the team with 75 ground balls. He also served as the Wolverines' No. 2 faceoff man, winning 61.2 percent (41 of 67) of his opportunities. He set career highs in goals, assists, caused turnovers (8) and ground balls last season.
Zabroski earned First Team All-PAC last year as well as Intercollegiate Men's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IMLCA) Honorable Mention All-Region. He is a returning USILA Scholar All-American.
Blythe led Grove City with 57 goals and 72 assists last season. He scored three or more goals in 13 games, including a four-goal performance against national semifinalist Bowdoin in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Blythe scored a team-high four game-winning goals and added 36 ground balls.
He currently ranks second in program history with 174 career goals and 218 career points. Blythe captured USILA All-America Honorable Mention and USILA Scholar All-America recognition following the 2024 season, along with IMLCA Second Team All-Region.
The 2024 Presidents' Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, Hougan tallied 33 goals and 26 assists in 20 games as a junior. He led Grove City with seven man-up goals and ranked second on the team in assists.
Hougan ranks second in program history with 78 career assists. His 93 goals rank sixth in Grove City history. Hougan earned USILA Honorable Mention All-America and IMLCA Second Team All-Region in 2024.
Grove City opens the 2025 season Saturday at 1 p.m. against No. 2 Salisbury at Under Armour World Headquarters in Baltimore.
