4 earn USILA All-America

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) recently recognized four Grove City College men's lacrosse players as Division III Honorable Mention All-Americans.

The USILA honored senior defender Sam Stevenson (Greenwood, Ind./Center Grove), graduate student defender Samuel Busby (Doswell, Va./Patrick Henry), senior faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg (Rancho Santa Fe, Calif./Santa Fe Christian) and junior short stick defensive midfielder Josh McDermott (San Juan Capistrano, Calif./Santa Margarita) after the quartet helped lead Grove City to the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament.

Stevenson earned All-America honors for the third straight season after leading Grove City with 22 caused turnovers. He also ranked second on the team with 54 ground balls and fired in a career-best 15 goals in 2026. Stevenson earned Presidents' Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors, along with First Team All-Conference.

He previously earned Honorable Mention All-America in both 2024 and 2025.

A first-year full-time starter in 2026, Busby joined Stevenson in leading Grove City's remodeled defensive corps this spring by causing a career-high 21 turnovers. Busby also collected 37 ground balls in his 21 starts. He joined Stevenson on the conference's First Team.

Lehberg led the conference by winning 66.8 percent of his faceoff opportunities this year, including a combined 29-for-52 performance in Grove City's two NCAA Tournament games. He led the Wolverines with 134 ground balls while also scoring a career-high 13 goals.

The conference selected Lehberg as its 2026 Specialist of the Year. He also earned First Team All-PAC distinction.

McDermott again played a key role in Grove City's defensive efforts this season by causing 10 turnovers from his midfield position. He also picked up 22 ground balls and added six assists at the offensive end. A three-year letterwinner for Grove City, McDermott earned his first All-PAC honor as he landed on the league's First Team.

This is the fifth straight season in which multiple Grove City players have been named All-America. Thirteen players have been selected as Division III All-Americans since the program began intercollegiate varsity play in 2018.

Grove City went 14-8 overall and 9-0 in the conference. The Wolverines earned a 14-9 win May 6 at Ohio Wesleyan in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, then concluded the season with a 16-15 setback at No. 8 Lynchburg three days later in the second round of the tournament.
