YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's indoor track and field team captured its second straight Presidents' Athletic Conference title Thursday night by accumulating 137 team points at the conference championships, held at Youngstown State's Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). The Wolverines amassed a 25-point edge over runner-up Allegheny to secure the crown.
Grove City performers won three individual events, including a pair of wins from conference track Most Valuable Performer
Alex Mitchell (Hummelstown, Pa./Harrisburg Christian). The junior won the 400 meters in a school- and conference-record time of 47.61 seconds. He also won the 200 meters in 21.69 seconds, then anchored Grove City's victorious 1600-meter relay.Â
Freshman
Jeremiah Knowles (Ephrata, Pa./Ephrata), junior
Greg Wilson (Akron, Ohio/Revere) and junior
Isaac Young (Jordan, Minn./Jordan) joined Mitchell on the relay, which won the event with a Grove City-record time of 3:23.38.
Senior
Ryan Lenhart (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) paced Grove City in the field events by winning the weight throw. Lenhart recorded a top throw of 47 feet, 10 inches. He also took third in the shot put with a best effort of 48-3 1/4.
Overall, 21 men contributed to Grove City's point total Thursday night.Â
Freshman
Caleb Haley (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) earned second in the triple jump with a best mark of 44-4. He finished one spot ahead of senior
Nick Petucci (Altoona, Pa./Altoona), who recorded a third-place jump of 43-10 3/4.Â
Knowles took third in the 400 (50.53) while senior
Jonah DeWitt (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) finished third in the 5000 meters with a time of 15:37.05. Junior
Michael Chambers (Bridgeville, Pa./Canon-McMillan) and junior
Tucker Owens (Gainesville, N.Y./Letchworth) tied for third in the pole vault as each competitor cleared 13-5 1/4.Â

Luke Roberts (Post Falls, Idaho/Post Falls) took fourth in both the 3000 (9:11.88) and 5000 (15:42.58). Young took fourth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:59.31. Freshman
Brandon Kendrew (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) placed fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.88 seconds.Â
Grove City also secured fourth place in the distance medley relay as the foursome of freshman

Andrew Coffee (Salem, Ohio/West Branch) took fifth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.97 seconds. Junior
Jacob Colbert (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia) finished fifth in the 5000 meters with a 15:45.73 clocking. Meanwhile, freshman
William Britton (Westfield, Ind.) cleared 12-11 1/2 to earn fifth place in the pole vault.Â
Junior
Michael Singley (Duncannon, Pa./Susquenita) captured sixth in the 3000 with a time of 9:18.30. Busler's time of 2:00.18 placed him sixth in the 800, one spot ahead of Miller (2:00.76). Junior
Caleb Hawke (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) finished eighth in the 3000 meters with a time of 9:19.61.

Jessica Cooper earned the league's Coach of the Year award.Â
Several Grove City athletes have qualified for the All-Atlantic Championships, which will be held March 7-8 in Ithaca, N.Y.
