WARREN, Ohio -- Grove City College sophomore golfer
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) earned medalist honors at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships, held Monday and Tuesday at Avalon Lakes Golf Course.
Gronbeck's 36-hole score of 139 helped the Wolverines place third in the 10-team field. Grove City accumulated a team score of 614. Allegheny recorded a team score of 600 while Washington & Jefferson sits second with a 609.
Gronbeck fired a 5-under 67 in Monday's first round, then followed up Tuesday with a 72. His 67 marked the lowest round by a Grove City golfer at a conference championship event and his 139 is the lowest 36-hole score for a Grove City golfer at the conference tournament. Gronbeck finished six shots ahead of Allegheny's Christopher Hoffman, the runner-up.

Tyler Derstein (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite) captured 14th with a 156 (76-80) while junior
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) placed 18th after shooting consecutive 79s for a 158. Sophomore
Seth Hartman (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) placed 30th with a 166 (86-80) while senior
Jonah Kozora (Mars, Pa./Mars) finished 36th with a 168 (81-87).
Fifty men competed in the event.
The Fall Championships represent the first half of the 2025-26 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships. The teams will play 36 more holes April 24-25, 2026 at Mill Creek Colf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
The Fall Championships conclude Grove City's fall schedule. The Wolverines will resume action in March.
