YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's track and field team resumed its indoor schedule Friday by competing at the unscored Youngstown State University Collegiate Invitational, held at Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS).
Senior
Danika Sudar (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) helped highlight the meet for Grove City by breaking her own school record in the weight throw. Sudar posted a mark of 46 feet, 8 1/4 inches to take eighth overall. She broke the old mark by 18 3/4 inches.
Junior
Megan Wise (West Sunbury, Pa./Moniteau) recorded Grove City's top individual finish overall as she placed sixth in the shot put with a best mark of 36-3.
Grove City also placed sixth in the 1600-meter relay as the foursome of sophomore
Alexandra Senko (Nichols, N.Y./Owego), sophomore
Bonnie Pittman (Cazenovia, N.Y./Cazenovia), sophomore
Hannah Costa (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) and freshman
Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) combined for a time of 4 minutes, 32.41 seconds.
Sophomore
Victoria Leak (Andover, N.H./Merrimack Valley) earned eighth in the triple jump with a best leap of 31-8 1/2. Senko took ninth in the triple jump (31-6 1/2) while Sudar earned ninth in the shot put with a top mark of 34-5 3/4.
Junior
Audrey Karwowski (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) finished ninth in the 400 meters (1:02.55) while freshman
Maggie Mollenauer (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) placed ninth in the 5000 with a time of 23:08.19.
Freshman
Lucy Gyergyo (Wexford, Pa./Eden Christian) placed 10th in the triple jump with a mark of 31-3 while classmate
Nadine Lauffer finished 10th in the 400 with a time of 1:02.67. White finished 12th in the 200 with a time of 26.71 seconds, which ranks second all-time at Grove City. Leak placed 12th in the shot put with a heave of 29-2.
Grove City returns to action Saturday, January 25 at the S.P.I.R.E. Invitational in Geneva, Ohio.
