GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team placed three men in the top six Thursday afternoon at its annual Fall Invitational, held at Grove City Country Club. Overall, the Wolverines placed seventh in the 17-team field with a team score of 318.
Junior
Michael Astrab (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) posted Grove City's top finish Thursday as he tied for second with a career-best 74. Senior
Luke Kimmich (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) shot 75 in his season debut, good for fourth place. Astrab and Kimmich both played as individuals.
Senior
Adam Steinmetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) led the Grove City "A" team with a 76. Steinmetz tied for sixth place. Junior
Brian McDonnell (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) tied for 29th by shooting a 79 while senior
Aidan Allen (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) placed 46th with a round of 81.

Max Vaughn (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern) and freshman
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) both carded 82s and tied for 53rd place.
Grove City's "B" squad placed 12th with a 330 team score. Sophomore
Nathan Young (Street, Md./Homeschooled) led the squad with an 81, good for 46th place. Junior
Jonah Kozora (Mars, Pa./Mars) and sophomore
Tyler Derstein (Telford, Pa./Dock Mennonite) tied for 53rd as each man posted an 82.
Freshman
Seth Hartman (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) finished 73rd with an 85. Junior
Cayden Testa (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) rounded out the "B" lineup with an 89. He finished 89th.
Three men joined Astrab and Kimmich as individuals at Thursday's event. Freshman
Mason Phillips (Butler, Pa./Knoch) tied for 73rd place with an 85. Classmate
Will Nelson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) recorded an 88, good for 85th place. Sophomore
Daniel Artale (Lititz, Pa./Homeschooled) placed 89th with an 89.
Westminster's Tyler Hager earned medalist with an even-par round of 72. Westminster won the team title with a 298. A total of 102 men competed in Thursday's Invitational.
Grove City returns to action October 14-15 at the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships in Warren, Ohio.
