WARREN, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's golf team concluded the fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule Monday and Tuesday by competing in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships, held at Avalon Lakes. Grove City's quintet recorded a 36-hole team score of 639, good for sixth place.
Senior
Adam Steinmetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) shot the tournament's low round Tuesday by posting a 72. He tied for 11th overall with a two-day score of 154.
Senior
Aidan Allen (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) finished 21st overall with a 159. Allen respectively shot 78 and 81 at the two-day event. Senior
Max Vaughn (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern) took 27th with a 162 (77-85).
Freshman
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) and junior
Brian McDonnell (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) tied for 32nd as each player recorded a 166. Both men shot 83 each day.
Forty-five men competed in the tournament. Allegheny's Carter Hassenplug earned medalist with a score of 140. Allegheny won the tournament with a 589 team score.
The spring portion of the 72-hole conference championships will be held April 25-26, 2025 at Mill Creek Metroparks and the Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
Grove City will return to action in the spring semester.
