GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City College senior track and field standout
Seth Ray (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) has qualified for the 2022 NCAA Division III Championships, which will be held Thursday-Saturday at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
A fifth-year senior, Ray will compete in the javelin Thursday at 5:45 p.m. He will be seeded 16th in the 20-man field, having posted a season-best throw of 192 feet, 1 inch (58.56m) April 13 at the Grove City Invitational. He earned fifth place last Friday at the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Championships in Bethlehem, Pa., with a best effort of 186-3.
This is Ray's first trip to the NCAA Championships. It also marks the second straight spring in which a Grove City performer advanced to the national championships. In 2021, recent graduate
D.J. Mulroy (Sunderland, Vt./Burr and Burton) placed 13th at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C.
The top eight performers in the men's javelin will earn Division III All-America honors.
