DANBURY, Conn. -- The Eastern College Athletic Conference honored Grove City College senior women's basketball player
Allison Podkul (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) as a member of its Division III All-Star Team. A 5-foot-8 forward, Podkul earned Second Team All-ECAC recognition Wednesday afternoon.
Podkul led the Presidents' Athletic Conference in field goal percentage (49.0) this season. She averaged 11.5 points and 8.7 rebounds per game while posting seven double-doubles. Podkul led Grove City in rebounding and ranked second in scoring average.Â
A four-year letterwinner and three-year starter for Grove City, Podkul also averaged 2.5 steals and 2.4 assists per game. She ranked second on the team in both categories. Podkul also ranked sixth in the league in steals and seventh in rebound average.
The lone senior on the 2021-22 roster, Podkul provided ample leadership for a Grove City roster that featured 10 first-year players. Podkul also earned First Team All-PAC honors following the 2021-22 season. She is the only league player to earn All-ECAC All-Star honors.
Grove City finished 17-9 overall and 13-5 in the conference, good for second in the regular season standings. Podkul helped lead Grove City to a 68-26 record during her four seasons.
