GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's basketball team closed its regular season home schedule Saturday afternoon by rolling to a 76-45 Senior Day victory over Waynesburg (12-11, 8-6) in Presidents' Athletic Conference interdivisional play at the Grove City College Arena.
Grove City led 13-0 midway through the first quarter and extended the lead to 24-3 by the end of the first quarter. The Wolverines pushed the lead to 41-15 by halftime as Grove City limited Waynesburg to 3-of-33 (9 percent) shooting in the first half.
Senior center
Meredith Sherrerd (New Braunfels, Texas/New Braunfels) paced the Wolverines with a 15-point, 10-rebound double-double while sophomore guard
Kailey Devlin (Turbotville, Pa./Meadowbrook Christian) added a dozen points.
Seniors accounted for Grove City's first 10 points in the game-opening outburst. Senior forward
Katie Hoff (Crafton, Pa./Our Lady of the Sacred Heart) scored twice in the paint while Sherrerd added a layup and two free throws. Senior guard
Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes) also drained a jumper. Devlin then capped the 13-point flurry with a three-pointer.

Brooke McCoy (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) closed the first quarter.
The lead swelled to 36-9 during the second quarter after McDole's second three-pointer and a jumper in the lane from senior center
Emma Ulmer (Milton, Pa./Northumberland Christian).
Grove City finished the game 30 of 70 (43 percent) from the field. Waynesburg went 15 of 67 (22 percent) overall. Grove City amassed 61-33 edge in rebounds. Junior guard
Bethany Thompson (Exeter Township, Pa./High Point Baptist) snared 10 rebounds while Ulmer had eight rebounds. Hoff, McCoy and sophomore forward
Alexis Hudson (Watsontown, Pa./Warrior Run) all collected six rebounds.
Hasley tallied five assists and Ulmer assisted three field goals. Ulmer also blocked two shots. Grove City committed 15 turnovers while Waynesburg had 10 turnovers.
Mia Henkins led the Yellow Jackets with eight points. Waynesburg entered the game on a six-game winning streak.
Grove City honored Hasley, Hoff, Sherrerd and Ulmer prior to Saturday's game. The Wolverines will have at least one more home game in the upcoming conference tournament, however, as Saturday's win clinched a quarterfinal round home game. Grove City (15-8, 9-5) owns a one-game lead on Allegheny (11-12, 8-6) in the conference's North Division. The top four teams in each division qualify for the eight-team tournament February 24-28.
The Wolverines will visit North Division rival Westminster at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.
