WARREN, Ohio -- A strong second day of competition at the two-day Presidents' Athletic Conference Fall Championships helped vault the Grove City College men's golf team into fourth place by the end of the 36-hole event, held Wednesday and Thursday at Avalon Lakes. Grove City finished with a team score of 664 as the Wolverines' quartet produced a 345 on the first day, then posted a 319 Thursday.
Sophomore
Adam Steinmetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) paced Grove City by taking fifth place overall. Steinmetz carded a 76 Wednesday, then shot 77 Thursday for a 153.
Sophomore
Aidan Allen (Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington Central) finished 22nd with a 165 (86-79) while classmate
Max Vaughn (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern) placed 23rd with a two-day score of 166 (84-82).Â
Senior
Caleb Husovich (Simi Valley, Calif.) shot 81 Thursday, giving him a two-day total of 180. He finished 34th overall. Forty men competed in the event.
The teams will conclude the conference championship April 21-22 with 36 additional holes at Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio. Grove City will resume its 2022-23 schedule in the spring semester.
