HERMITAGE, Pa. -- Senior
Scott Hangliter (Mars, Pa./Seneca Valley) fired a 72 Saturday afternoon to help lead the Grove City College men's golf team to a runner-up finish at the season-opening Thiel Invitational, held at Avalon Buhl. Grove City posted a team score of 319. Westminster won the team title with a 296.
Hangliter took second overall in the 27-man field to lead Grove City. He finished one shot behind Westminster's Michael Bell in the individual standings.
Senior
Jacob McConnell (Smithville, Ohio/Smithville) placed 10th with an 80 while junior
Tanner McCreadie (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) took 14th with an 84. Freshman
Todd Hangliter (Mars, Pa./Seneca Valley) debuted with an 85, good for 20th place.
Senior
Zack Spang (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) rounded out Grove City's lineup by finishing 22nd with an 86.
Grove City returns to action Monday, April 5 at the Westminster Invitational.
