HERMITAGE, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's golf team returned to action after Easter Break by competing in the Thiel College Spring Invitational, held Monday afternoon at Avalon at Buhl. Grove City placed seventh overall in the 11-team field with a team score of 316.
Washington & Jefferson won the team title by accumulating a team score of 292. Pitt-Bradford finished second with a 294 total.
Sophomore
Luke Gronbeck (Gibsonia, Pa./Eden Christian) paced Grove City by taking second place overall with a 71. Gronbeck tied for runner-up but officially finished second due to scorecard playoff.Â

Seth Hartman (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) took 24th with a 79 while senior
Brian McDonnell (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) tied for 34th with an 82. Senior
Michael Astrab (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) placed 40th with an 84 while sophomore
Will Nelson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) rounded out the lineup by shooting an 86. Nelson placed 46th.
Grove City also entered a "B" squad in Monday's tournament and placed ninth with a team total of 328. Senior
Jack Jollie (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) debuted for the Wolverines by posting a 76. Jollie took 15th overall.

Jonah Kozora (Mars, Pa./Mars) placed 29th with an 80 while freshman
Topher Drombetta (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) tied for a 34th by shooting an 82. Junior
Daniel Artale (Lititz, Pa./Homeschooled) rounded out the "B" lineup with a 90. Artale finished 55th.
Washington & Jefferson's Matthew Morelli earned medalist honors with a 69 on the par-70 course. Sixty men competed in Monday's event.
Grove City returns to action Thursday at the Bethany Invitational.
