Shane Hammel (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) belted two home runs and drove in five runs Tuesday afternoon to help lead the Grove City College baseball team to a 15-9 non-conference victory at Hiram.

Bubba Hamilton (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro) and freshman left fielder
Colton Lineman (Chapel Hill, N.C./Northwood) both doubled twice as Grove City pounded out 18 hits. All nine starters had at least one hit for the Wolverines.

Joey Kolb (Riverside, Calif./Arlington) went 3 for 5. Sophomore catcher
Tanner Orner (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) drove in three runs. Hammel scored four times while Lineman and senior third baseman
Micah Burke (Gilbert, Ariz./E.V.A.C.) both scored three runs.

Lake Pry (West Sunbury, Pa./Moniteau) allowed two earned runs in five innings to secure the victory. He struck out six and yielded five hits.
Hammel gave Grove City a 2-0 lead in the first inning by launching a two-run homer. In the second, Kolb's bunt single brought in Hamilton to give Grove City a 3-0 lead.
Orner's sacrifice fly in the fifth opened a three-run rally for the Wolverines. Hamilton followed by singling in Hammel. Sophomore second baseman
Jesse Clary (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) pushed the lead to 6-1 by driving in junior shortstop
Bobby Abbott (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) with a single.
In the sixth, Burke singled in Lineman to give Grove City a 7-2 lead. Hammel then broke open the game with a three-run homer. In the seventh, junior first baseman
Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) doubled in Lineman, then scored on Burke's groundout.
Hiram whittled the lead to 12-9 in the eighth but Grove City added three runs in the top of the ninth. Burke singled in Kolb and Orner followed with a two-run single that brought home Burke and Hammel.

Austin Wacker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) pitched three innings of relief and freshman
Isaac Bowden (Fairfax, Va./Lake Braddock) pitched a scoreless ninth.
Grove City will visit Salem International Friday evening to start a three-game series. Friday's game starts at 6 p.m.
