ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Grove City College baseball team concluded its record-setting season Saturday by dropping a 10-0 decision at Mount Union in an elimination game of the 2025 NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Mount Union advanced to play Catholic in another elimination game in the four-team regional while the Wolverines finish 31-13 overall.
Senior second baseman
Luke Vittone (Seven Fields, Pa./Eden Christian) paced Grove City by going 3 for 5 while senior right fielder
Josh Minnich (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) added a pair of hits.Â
Grove City left nine runners on base Saturday as the Wolverines went 0 for 5 with men in scoring position. Grove City also stranded nine men on base Friday in its tournament opener against Rowan.
Sophomore pitcher
Bryce Trischler (Mars, Pa./Shady Side Academy) started and yielded four earned runs in 4 1/3 innings. Trischler (6-3) struck out four men and allowed nine hits.Â
Freshman
Dash Lanzilotta (Northfield, Ohio/Nordonia) pitched 2 2/3 innings of relief and allowed two runs. He also fanned four. Junior
Kenny Lavrich (Franklin, Pa./Cranberry) pitched a scoreless eighth inning of relief.Â
Vittone concludes his Grove City career as the program's all-time leader in runs scored (156), hits (205), total bases (314) and games played (166). Minnich drove in a Grove City-record 135 runs, including a team-leading 49 this spring.Â

Evan Umland (Pasadena, Calif./La Canada) joined Minnich and Vittone in Grove City's 2025 senior class. That senior class compiled a 116-52 (.690) record over the last four seasons.
This year, Grove City won a program-record 31 games, breaking the mark of 30 wins set in 2023. Grove City won its first Presidents' Athletic Conference title since 2008. This year's NCAA Tournament appearance marked the second in program history and the first since 2008.
