GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Presidents' Athletic Conference selected three Grove City College swimmers for weekly conference honors Monday afternoon. 

The Grove City women's swimming and diving team swept this week's awards as freshman Addison Vance (Butler, Pa./Butler) earned Swimmer of the Week and classmate Abby Tweed (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) captured Newcomer of the Week.

Freshman George Witte (Columbia, S.C./Covenant Classical Christian) repeated as Newcomer of the Week on the men's side. 

Vance won the 400 individual medley at the Carnegie Mellon Western Pennsylvania Invitational with a time of 4 minutes, 36.77 seconds. That time now ranks seventh in program history. She also took fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:12.65).

Tweed anchored Grove City's victorious 400 free relay (3:37.43) at CMU. She also placed second in the 50 free (24.70) and third in the 200 free (1:56.87). Tweed ranks first in the conference in both the 50 and 200 free so far this winter. 

Witte won the 200 backstroke (1:56.05) and the 200 freestyle (1:43.02) at the Western Pennsylvania Invitational. He owns the conference's top time in both events this season. Witte also helped Grove City to a meet-opening win in the 200 free relay, as the foursome produced a time of 1:23.97. Grove City also took second in the 400 free relay (3:05.55) with Witte swimming the third leg. 

Witte also merited Newcomer of the Week last week. He is a six-time Newcomer of the Week so far this season in the conference.

The Grove City swimming and diving teams return to action Friday at 6 p.m. by hosting Calvin in a non-conference dual meet at James E. Longnecker Pool.
