PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team earned two events Friday and Saturday at Carnegie Mellon's unscored Western Pennsylvania Invitational.
Grove City closed the meet by winning the 400 free relay as sophomore
Ellie Webster (Westfield, Ind./Westfield), freshman
Mary Anne Altman (Sarver, Pa./Freeport), senior
Sadie Shofestall (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) and freshman
Abby Tweed (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) combined for a winning time of 3 minutes, 37.43 seconds.
Freshman
Addison Vance (Butler, Pa./Butler) earned Grove City's other event win by taking the 400 individual medley in 4:36.77. She edged freshman
Abigail Vance (Butler, Pa./Butler), who took second with a time of 4:37.78.
Tweed added a runner-up finish in the 50 free, touching the wall in 24.70 seconds. Shofestall finished third in the 50 (24.81). Tweed also took third in the 200 free (1:56.87) while
Abigail Vance placed third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:25.73.

Ashley Rauhauser (York, Pa./Homeschooled) opened the meet by taking third place in the 200 free relay as the quartet combined for a time of 1:38.33.
Sophomore
Hadleigh McNay (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) earned third in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.96) while freshman
Mollie Massella (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) took third in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:09.80.
The Wolverines return to dual meet competition Friday at 6 p.m. when Grove City hosts Calvin in a non-conference dual meet at James E. Longnecker Pool.
