ERIE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team opened the spring semester Saturday afternoon by capturing a 179-105 victory at Penn State Behrend in a non-conference dual meet at the Junker Centre pool.
Freshman
Abigail Vance (Butler, Pa./Butler) helped pace Grove City by winning three individual events. She won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1 minute, 9.42 seconds and then took the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:29.55. Vance then recorded a winning time of 2:16.13 in the 200 individual medley.
Freshman diver
Chaeli Keenan (New Alexandria, Pa./Derry) swept both 1-meter and 3-meter competition. She posted a winning score of 228.30 points on the low board, then accumulated 246.10 points in 3-meter competition.
Grove City opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay as freshman

Sadie Shofestall (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) closed the meet with a winning time of 1:42.28 in the 200 free relay.
Altman won the 100 free in 55.62 seconds while Tweed took first in the 200 freestyle (2:01.21). Rauhauser won the 100 backstroke (1:02.69) and freshman
Mollie Massella (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) captured the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:13.80.
Grove City will compete in the unscored Carnegie Mellon Invitational next Friday and Saturday.
