LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team capped its inaugural season of intercollegiate varsity competition by earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2025 season.
The AVCA honors teams that achieve a cumulative grade-point average of 3.3 or higher during the academic year. Overall, 30 NCAA Division III men's volleyball programs earned the Team Award.
Following the conclusion of the spring 2025 semester, seven Grove City players earned placement on the Presidents' Athletic Conference's Academic Honor Roll for achieving a 3.60 or higher GPA during the spring semester: rising junior
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico), recent graduate
Andrew Fisher (Apple Creek, Ohio/Central Christian), rising senior
Derrick Lambert (Denver, Pa./Garden Spot), rising senior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled), recent graduate
Cael McEwen (Grove City, Pa./Grove City), recent graduate Quinton Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Savannah) and rising junior
Phillip Schweitzer (Erie, Pa./McDowell).
Grove City went 8-4 in the conference and advanced to the conference tournament title match last spring. The Wolverines concluded their inaugural season with a 14-15 overall record.
