NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team closed its 2024-25 dual meet schedule Thursday night by securing a 159-99 win over host Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Memorial Field House pool.
Grove City bookended the meet by sweeping both relays. Freshman
Gabby Kinneer (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant), freshman
Gianna Bracken (Indiana, Pa./Indiana), senior
Sarah Kuchma (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Hills) and freshman
Freja Kile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay in 1 minute, 57.65 seconds.
Kile also anchored Grove City's victorious 200 free relay (1:46.35), which also featured sophomore
Jamie Durstein (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton La Salle), junior
Leah Boardman (Laurel, Md./Annapolis Christian) and sophomore
Katie Bell (Leroy, Mich./Northern Michigan Christian).
Bracken, Durstein, Kile and Kuchma all recorded two individual wins each. Bracken won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.37, then took the 200 breaststroke in 2:42.11. Durstein swept the backstroke taking the 100 backstroke in 1:05.32 and recording a winning time of 2:21.06 in the 200 backstroke.
Kile won the 200 (2:03.39) and 500 (5:31.99) free. Kuchma captured the 50 free in a time of 25.78 seconds. She then won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:01.23.
Grove City will host the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships Preview meet Saturday at 1 p.m. in James E. Longnecker Pool.
