Grove City dominates All-Conference honors

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team swept the Presidents' Athletic Conference's individual awards and placed eight players on the All-PAC Teams, as announced Wednesday night by the conference.

Junior midfielder Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) earned the league's Offensive Player of the Year award while junior center back Hannah Costa (Harrisburg, Pa./Harrisburg Christian) captured Defensive Player of the Year recognition.

Freshman forward Lauren Muhanna (Pittsburgh, Pa./Moon Township) earned the conference's Newcomer of the Year. Head coach Melissa Lamie received Coach of the Year honors from the league's head coaches.

Costa, Muhanna, Stevenson and senior outside back Karly Keller (New Kensington, Pa./Kiski Area) all earned First Team All-Conference honors. Freshman midfielder Ady Waters (Port Clinton, Ohio/Tree of Life) earned Second Team All-PAC placement while Honorable Mention All-PAC went to junior goalkeeper Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna), sophomore forward Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) and freshman forward Emily Horst (Leesburg, Va./Loudoun County).

Stevenson leads the conference with 16 goals this season. She scored 14 goals during the 11-match conference schedule and finished conference play with 30 points. Stevenson also leads the Wolverines with 34 points. Her 16 goals rank seventh on Grove City's single-season list while her 34 career goals are No. 9 in program history.

Stevenson earned Honorable Mention All-PAC as a sophomore, as well as Most Outstanding Player honors at the 2024 conference tournament.

Costa has helped anchor a Grove City defense that closed the regular season with nine shutouts and then posted two more whitewashes in the conference tournament. Her efforts on the backline helped Grove City limit conference opponents to a 0.18 goals-against average in 11 league matches. Opposing offenses registered only 29 shots on goal in 11 regular season conference matches.

Costa earned All-PAC honors for the second straight season. She received Second Team All-Conference placement in 2024. She is the first Grove City player to be named Defensive Player of the Year.

Muhanna has emerged as an integral part of the Grove City offense as she leads the conference with nine assists. She has added six goals, giving her 21 total points. Her 21 points rank second on the squad and seventh in the conference. Muhanna recorded four goals and eight assists in 10 conference outings this fall.

Muhanna is the first Grove City player to earn Newcomer of the Year since Gianna D'Amato during the spring 2021 COVID season.

Lamie guided Grove City (13-4-2) to its third consecutive conference title this fall. The Wolverines have won 10 or more matches in 11 straight seasons. This is Lamie's 13th Coach of the Year award and the first honor for her since 2019. She is the conference's all-time wins leader with 384 victories.

A four-year starter in Grove City's back four, Keller earned her fourth All-PAC citation. It is her initial First Team selection after being a Second Team honoree in 2023 and 2024, and an Honorable Mention pick as a freshman. She teamed with Costa in leading Grove City's defensive efforts this year while also adding a goal and three assists.

Keller has started 77 career matches and has 10 career assists.

Waters chalked up three goals and three assists in conference play this fall. She has made 16 starts this year while playing in all 19 matches.

A first-year starter in goal, Mills went 10-0-1 with an 0.21 GAA in conference play this year. Overall, she is 13-4-2 with a 0.97 GAA and an .827 save percentage. She has eight full shutouts and also contributed to four other shutouts so far this year. The eight shutouts are third on Grove City's single-season list.

Mills also earned placement on the conference's Sportsmanship Team.

White scored seven times in 11 conference matches despite only starting the last four matches of the league schedule. She ranks second on the team with eight total goals, a figure that also ranks seventh in the conference.

Horst, the third member of Grove City's rookie class to achieve All-PAC status, tallied three goals and six assists in conference play this season. She recorded points in five of Grove City's final six regular season matches.

Grove City won the conference title last Saturday evening with a 1-0 win over visiting Waynesburg University at Don Lyle Field. The Wolverines blanked Franciscan, 1-0, in the tournament semifinals November 5.

Costa earned the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award after helping the Wolverines record two shutouts last week. Muhanna and Stevenson joined her on the All-Tournament Team.

As conference champions, the Wolverines have earned an automatic berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. Grove City will face Illinois Tech at 1 p.m. Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich.
